Bill 156

Bill 156? Never heard of it?

Overruled!

Well, here’s the gist of it.

Bill 156 is a revised version of the bill to restrict manga, anime, and games with sexual and “anti-social” depictions of children earlier this year. The proposed, now approved and passed, bill will amend the Youth Healthy Development Ordinance which, a couple of days back, only restricted minors from purchasing/renting “harmful” publications.

Now, however, the industry would have to regulate content they publish, be it manga, anime, or even static drawings that exaggerates certain, for the lack of a better description, “inappropriate content” such as sex/rape/whateverthefuckthat’sinappropriate.

Another section of the revised bill would allow the government to directly regulate the above mentioned items if the depicted acts are deemed harmful/inappropriate to minors.

So what’s the big deal about it?

Harry Potter vs. Twilight

Harry Potter beats Twilight in any kind of duel.

Harry Potter > Twilight

And this isn’t coming from someone who has no idea what he’s talking about, unlike most of you loud-mouthed people who have actually only read/watched one of the two and decided to blab about how the other sucks. No offence. Seriously, though. I’ve read all the books from both series but the ONLY reason I read Twilight was to see what the hype was about; to see if it really was ‘the next Harry Potter.’

In any case, after countless times of having the same conversation over and over and over again with Twilight fans, I decided that it’s time I set my opinion about this in stone (website rather) and never, ever, have a conversation with anyone about this ever again. If anyone starts up a conversation about this with me, I’ll simply direct them here!

I figured that since the Harry Potter phenomenon is coming to an end with the last two movies soon (Well, at least until Jo publishes The Scottish Book), this is the time to ‘set things straight’. Without further ado, here are the reasons why I think Harry Potter > Twilight.

(In case you don’t know what ‘>’ means, it signifies ‘greater than’. You know, like in math.)
